PÁTZCUARO TOURS

Terracotta-tiled roofs, warped red-and-white adobe walls and narrow cobblestone streets give the city of Pátzcuaro the air of a large village. Unlike the Spanish-founded settlements of Morelia and Guadalajara, Pátzcuaro took root in the 1320s as part of the Tarascan empire, two full centuries before the conquistadors arrived, and retains its indigenous feel.

Its stunning landscapes lake joined with the architecture of its historic center have made Pátzcuaro one of the most interesting places to visit in Michoacán, considered a “Magical Town”. The Purépecha people are craftsment and they will surprise you with their musical language and their artisan crafts made of wood, metal, baskets, fabrics and pottery.  This town is especially known for their celebration of the Day of the Dead.
