We will pick you in your hotel at 9:00 am and will drive one hour to Monte Alban. Monte Albán, the most significant archeological site in the Oaxaca Valley, is one of the most important archaeological zones in Mesoamerica. An ancient Zapotec metropolis, Monte Albán was founded in the sixth century B.C. on a low mountainous range overlooking the city of Oaxaca.
Its impressive architectural remains—terraces, pyramids, and canals—extend over some four miles. Monte Albán Archaeological Site, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987.
After the archeological tour will take you to lunch at Cuilapam in a Oaxacan traditional cuisine restaurant. ( 🚨 Lunch not included 🚨)
Cuilapam is a famous place by the former convent and relevance in Mexican history.
Then we will drive to San Martin Tilcajete, a traditional Zapotec village known for the production of Alebrijes; wood carved depictions of fantastic creatures painted in bright colors and intricate patterns. We’ll meet a family of artisans and watch a carving demonstration.
