NOVEMBER 1st ONLY (7 Hours) Enjoy this magical night and participate in one of Mexico’s most important traditions,
“Dia de Los Muertos” or “Day of the Dead”

The tour begins at the meeting point in Centro Historico near the Zocalo (Main Plaza), where you will become familiar with the traditions of Day of the Dead, sampling delicious “pan de muerto” & hot chocolate from the Parraquia.

“ On this important day, the locals get ready for the festivities by heading to the market to purchase the biggest, brightest bunch of cempazúchitl (marigolds) and flowers, they will also head to the local bakery for a few loaves of “pan de muerto”(bread of the dead) or prepare their own. The bread often decorated with bones and skulls is then eaten graveside or offered to the deceased. ”

After our experience in Centro Historico we will prepare to continue the trip to the famous Xochimilco where you will enjoy a festive ride through the colorful canals on a Trajinera (boat) here you will  enjoy music and learn about the legend of The Weeping Woman (La Llorona)

From Xochimilco we will head directly to the Panteon (Cemetery) at Xilotepec en la Noria Arriving at the Cemetery we will visit the families, who year after year visit their loved ones, singing songs, eating & drinking by the graves, hoping that tonight will have the opportunity to see them again.

7:00 ​p.m. – Meet the tour in Centro Historico near Zocalo​ (Main Plaza)​

7:30 ​pm.​ – ​ ​I​ntroduction and explanation of the Day of the Dead “Dia de Los Muertos”. You will be given pan de muerto (traditional bread) , hot chocolate and a hand made ​calaverita.

8:00 ​p.m. – Travel to Xochimilco​

9:00 ​​p.m​ – ​A​rrive at Xochimilco for a 1 hour tour in a Trajinera (boat) with music and legends shared about Day of the Dead traditions. There will be tequila served as well.​

10:20 ​ ​p.m.​ – ​ ​Travel to Xilotepec en la Noria Cemetery (Panteon)​

11:00 ​ ​p.m.​ – ​ ​Arrive at ​Cemetery of Xilotepec en la Noria ​to​​​ enjoy the local traditions. You will have 2 hours here.

1:00 a.m. – Travel to Mexico City​ (El Centro)

2:00 a.m. – Arrive in Mexico City Centro Historico

What to know: Reservations must be made 72 hours in advance to guarantee space.

Drop-Off Details: We will drop you off at the meeting point.  We can also drop you off at your hotel for a $4 USD extra charge per person to Hotels located in Centro Historico, Condesa, Polanco, Roma & Reforma.
