I booked online a few weeks before the trip. While on the website, the team chats with you to answer all your questions. We took the two seaters as we have MJ (13) & Marcus (11).
What to bring, sunscreen, towel, sunglasses, bandana for off road, (though they will provide one), camera, some pesos. The quads have nice lockable storage and very comfy seat back for passenger.
We arrived by taxi, and met our guide Jeff. He was from originally from Houston, TX, and extremely knowledgeable about the quads and the area. He went through where we were going, and the operation of the quad and we were pro’s in two minutes flat.
We got to go at our own pace which was nice. The sights were incredible, the Malecon, driving through the old city, a quick stop at Los Arcos for a family photo, then off road to a nice waterfall which was the set for the movie Predator. The kids did the rope swing and natural slide and took photos with the helicopter and predator costumed actors. The off road was fun, dusty yes, but super fun.
Then off to the beach and a great little restaurant. Wendy and I had the chicken fajitas and the jumbo porteguese bacon wrapped shrimp with a few cold drinks. The kids opted for beef fajitas and french fries. The food was good and no digestive issues afterwards. The swimming looked nice at the beach, but we enjoyed the atmosphere and shade of the restaurant.
Then back through the streets and to the shop. I know my kids and I were sad when we pulled into the shop because we did not want it to end.
Cold towels awaited for us to refresh, a nice touch. Jeff took pics throughout with his camera and ours and sent the compilation to our email address. Unlike other tours, you are not nickel and dimed for every little thing.
Tops for my boys were driving down the streets, people watching and and the rope swing. We plan to visit the Malecon boardwalk tonight.
They also do other private tours like snorkeling, which we plan to partake as another tour “beach boy” had us in the water for just 15 minutes, and was very disappointing.
You will have a great time, trust me.
